ICT Gozo Malta Project wins National Enterprise Award
The ICT Gozo Project co-founded by The Gozo Business Chamber and Synaptic Laboratories Ltd were joint winners of a 20,000 Euro prize in the National Enterprise Support Awards 2011, an event sponsored by Government of Malta and the European Commission, in recognition of those entities and organisations who have made exceptional efforts to assist SMEs.
The National Awards are funded as part of the European Enterprise Awards, a project of the European Commission, that recognises and rewards outstanding initiatives that support entrepreneurship at regional level. The awards, which were launched in 2005, are not only a competition but also aim to raise awareness of enterprise – both in terms of policy and activities – and celebrate success. The competition spans the 28 member states of the European Union as well as Norway, Serbia and Turkey.

The competition is open to public authorities and non-profit organisations in these countries. Participation of the ICT GM Project was through The Gozo Business Chamber.
The prize was announced and awarded by the Minister for Fair Competition and Consumer Small Business, The Hon. Jason Azzopardi, during the special National Awards event held on Friday evening. The event was reported on the TV including video footage of ICT Gozo Malta Project activities, and also in various other media.
It is interesting to note that our Project was selected from amongst strong competition, including prestigious organisations such as The Office of the President of Malta and 3 separate project submissions from the Malta Chamber for Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.
It is gratifying to see such recognition of our innovative activities.
