Project: Galileo Access Control
About Galileo
Galileo is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) currently being built by the European Union (EU) and European Space Agency (ESA). The €3.4 billion project is an alternative and a complement to the U.S. NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Russian GLONASS. On 30 November 2007 the 27 EU transportation ministers involved reached an agreement that it should be operational by 2013, but later press releases suggest it was delayed to 2014.
In the Republic of Malta the responsible Government Agency is the Malta Communications Authority.
ICT Gozo Malta Initiatives
We are exploring the potential for Synaptic Labs' global-scale Identity Management and Cryptographic Key Management and TruSIP 4Clouds technologies promoted by ICT Gozo Malta to apply in Galileo for managing conditional access to premium services. These new technologies promote the use of TEMPEST enclosures such as provided by our featured company Secure Systems and Technologies (SST) and apparently TEMPEST is already mandated to protect some information within GALILEO.
